Objectives: |
At
the completion of this conference participants will be able to: |
|
|
áAssess suture integrity, knot integrity and
sterility of expired suture. áDefine the normal BNP level during normal
pregnancy. áDiscuss the difference in BNP levels
amongst races and in obese patients. áDetermine when the BNP may be used as a
marker in disease processes. áCalculate the recommended dose of folate supplementation for a normal pregnancy áList the benefits to folate
supplementation, aside from birth defects. áList the concerns that have been raised
regarding a higher dose of folate supplementation. áDiscuss the importance of clear task
instructions in the learning process áDescribe some of the psychological
processes involved in learning clinical skills. áDiscuss the importance of focused attention
while teaching and learning. áList the possible variables included in the
preoperative evaluation of epithelial ovarian cancer and recognize the
patient population and comorbidities commonly seen in this population. áDefine optimal cytoreduction
and the recall the surgical approach taken to achieve it. áList the causes of post-partum
hemorrhage. áDescribe the most common treatments for
uterine atony. áAppraise if higher-dose prophylactic oxytocin reduces the need for additional uterotonics after delivery. |
